IT Hardware Asset Management Permissions for IT Services
Salesforce admins assign permission sets or permission set groups to users based on their roles in the IT service and asset management team. Use these permissions to manage internal IT asset lifecycles and track financial data.

Assign permissions in two ways.
| Option | What it Provides | How to Assign |
|---|---|---|
| Permission sets | Access to specific objects, fields, and features. | Add permission sets to users individually based on their role. |
| Permission set groups | A bundled set of related permission sets aligned to a role | Assign a permission set group to the user for role-based access. |
Permission Sets
These permission sets are available for IT Hardware Asset Management.

| Hardware Asset Management Asset Manager | Track deployed assets, manage lifecycles, initiate disposal orders, and upload Certificates of Disposal for compliance. |
| Hardware Asset Management Inventory Manager | Oversee physical stockrooms, evaluate hardware condition, manage fulfillment and return orders, and update asset statuses. |
| Hardware Asset Management Inventory Auditor | Verify organizational and regulatory compliance by ensuring disposed hardware has valid Certificates of Disposal. |
| Hardware Asset Management Finance Manager | Manage financial and depreciation data tied to disposed assets. |
| Hardware Asset Management IT Fulfiller | Manage the intake, review, and fulfillment of hardware requests, including new hardware, reclaims, and refreshes. |
| Hardware Asset Management Procurement | Manage external hardware purchasing, view purchase orders, and consolidate primary purchase orders. |
| ITAM Community User | Raise hardware requests from the self-service portal. |
| IT Service Configuration Item Type Manager | Create and edit configuration item (CI) types and configure Identification Rules to identify CIs during discovery and sync operations. |
| IT Service Configuration Item and Asset Discovery Manager | Create, manage, and view CIs, CI types, and related relationships within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). |
| IT Service Configuration Item Reader | View configuration items. To view related records, also assign the IT Service Related Records Reader permission set. |
| IT Service Related Records Reader | View related records, such as incidents, problems, change requests, and releases. To view configuration items, also assign the IT Service Configuration Item Reader permission set. |
Permission Set Groups
To simplify role-based access, use predefined permission set groups.
