| Term | Description |
|---|---|
| Asset | A platform record representing a specific, physical instance of a product managed by internal IT, tracking its financial lifecycle, ownership, and maintenance. |
| Asset Timeline and Asset Activity | A transactional logging entity that chronologically captures all significant lifecycle events, such as transfers, shipments, assignments, and disposals, along with field-level changes to provide a holistic audit trail. |
| Certificate of Disposal (CoD) | An official document that the vendor uploads as legal and compliance proof that they securely disposed of or destroyed an asset. |
| Configuration Item (CI) | A digital record representing an IT asset or service's technical, operational, and discovery-driven details within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). |
| Disposal Order | A header record representing a request to dispose of one or more assets permanently via a specific third-party vendor and method, such as recycle, shred, or donate. |
| Fulfillment Order and Return Order | Objects used to manage the logistics of delivering devices to employees and returning them to a stockroom. These orders replace the internal stockroom-to-stockroom Product Transfer object for employee-facing workflows. |
| Product Item | Captures the inventory of a product at a specific location and breaks down the inventory into individual states. |
| Product Transfer | Use this option when you require an internal stockroom-to-stockroom transfer before fulfilling the fulfillment order line item (FOLI). |
| Product Request Line Item | Use this option when you must purchase the hardware from an external vendor before fulfilling the FOLI. |
| Quantity Allocated | Inventory that your IT fulfillers reserve for a specific demand source but haven't shipped yet. This count increases when asset statuses change to Assigned or Reserved. |
| Quantity Available | Net inventory ready to fulfill new requests, calculated by subtracting blocked or reserved stock from the total on-hand quantity. |
| Quantity Damaged | Inventory containing defective or broken assets that can’t satisfy incoming user requests. |
| Quantity Fulfilled | The total count of assigned physical assets tied to a specific fulfillment line item. |
| Quantity In Transit | Inventory that a supplier or team shipped, but the destination stockroom hasn't received yet. |
| Quantity On Hold | Inventory temporarily withheld from availability, such as reclaimed items awaiting evaluation or assets pending disposal. |
| Quantity On Order | Inventory that an external supplier hasn't yet delivered to your stockroom. |
| Quantity Remaining | The outstanding balance between requested hardware quantities and fulfilled hardware units. |
| Quantity Soft Reserved | Inventory temporarily held to prevent double-booking before warehouse teams pick specific serialized items. |
| Serialized vs. Non-Serialized and Consumable | Serialized products track individual items by unique serial numbers. Non-serialized consumables track total inventory volume at a location. |
| Shipment | Associate records directly with the fulfillment order and fulfillment order line item to track physical delivery logistics and status after you dispatch the hardware. |
| Usage Type | A field on the Location entity used to define how inventory behaves at that site, distinguishing between Field Service locations, which are based on serialized products, and IT Service locations, which are asset based. |
