            Map Asset and Configuration Item Fields

            Keep your IT Hardware Asset Management and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) records aligned with event-driven, bidirectional synchronization. Map corresponding fields, establish a source of truth, and configure field value translations to resolve data conflicts between systems.

            Required Editions

            Available in: Lightning Experience
            Available in: Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions with Agentforce IT Service.
            User Permissions Needed
            To map Asset and CI fields: Modify All Data OR CMDB Administrator
            1. From the App Launcher, find and select CMDB and Service Graph.
            2. In the navigation menu, scroll to Administration and expand CMDB.
            3. Select CI and Asset Sync Settings.
            4. Select Field Synchronization tab.
            5. Select Add Field Mapping.
            6. Select an Asset Field.
            7. Select a CI Field.
            8. Select a Source of Truth.
              This setting dictates which system is authoritative. A designated source of truth overwrites another system's value if there’s a discrepancy.
            9. Map specific Source Field Values to Target Field Values.
              For example, map a CI value of Ordered to an Asset value of On Order. Multiple CI values can map to a single Asset value, such as mapping In Build, In Test, and Integration to Pending Install.
            10. Save your changes.
