          Receive Returned Hardware

          Receive Returned Hardware

Receive serialized hardware at a destination inventory location to complete asset reclamation. Processing incoming returns automatically updates asset lifecycle states, increments inventory counts at the receiving location, and logs an immutable audit trail.

To manage return orders: Hardware Asset Management Inventory Manager
          1. From the App Launcher, find and select IT Hardware Asset Management.
          2. Select Return Orders.
          3. Select the incoming return order number.
          4. On the Related tab, select each return order line item.
          5. Verify the hardware and update fields such as Quantity Expected and Quantity Received to account for all assets.
          6. Save your changes and return to the return order record.
          7. From the Details tab, set the status of the return order to Closed.
Closing the order triggers updates to your inventory.
          • The asset status updates to Reclaimed.
          • The Quantity On Hand field on the associated product item increments at the destination inventory location.
          • The system logs a transaction in the Asset Activity ledger to provide a clear audit trail.
          • Reclaimed assets temporarily enter an On Hold state.
          Note
Note Reclaimed assets remain isolated from active inventory while on hold. Evaluate the physical condition of each asset to determine the next lifecycle transition, such as refurbishing, reassigning, or initiating a hardware disposal order.
