Review and update asset records that fail validation to ensure smooth processing during
hardware asset management lifecycles. Resolving configuration issues helps you complete bulk
refreshes, reclaims, and stockroom transfers without system blocks or error messages.
Required Editions
Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited
Editions with Agentforce IT Service.
Before you begin, make sure that you have:
Administrative permissions to modify asset records and setup configurations.
Access to Asset Status Mapping in Setup.
Note Operations such as assignments, transfers, or returns fail with an error message if an
asset isn't flagged as an IT hardware asset or uses an unmapped status.
Follow these steps to isolate and resolve asset validation failures reported during lifecycle
operations.
Go to the asset record that triggers the validation error.
Select the Details tab.
Select the IT Hardware Asset checkbox to designate the item as IT
hardware.
Click Save.
From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter and select Asset Status
Mapping.
Select the Status Category tab.
Confirm that a valid mapping exists between the asset's current status and an
Asset Status Category.
If a mapping is missing, click Add Mapping Field, select the
Asset Status and corresponding Asset Status
Category, and then click Save.
Select the Inventory Quantity tab.
Verify that the asset's location maps to an inventory stockroom.
Resubmit the operation or run the targeted try again.
