            Set Up Stage Management for Change Requests in IT Services

            Create stage definitions from change management templates to guide your team through the entire lifecycle of a change request. This process ensures that every change is implemented smoothly and follows a standardized workflow from start to finish.

            Required Editions

            Available in: Lightning Experience
            Available in: Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions with Agentforce IT Service.
            User Permissions Needed
            To use Stage Management Stage Management Design User and Stage Management User
            1. Create stage definition for change request.
              1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, search for and select Stage Definition and then enable Stage Management. Also enable Re-evaluate Rules for Draft Stage Definitions to re-evaluate rules for records associated with the stage definitions.
              2. Click New, select Use a Template and then click Next.
              3. In the Object field, select Change Request and select one of the stage definition type.
              4. Fill in the details, click Next and confirm the Stage Mapping.
              5. Save your changes and click Publish.
            2. Modify stage definitions.
              1. Set up stage transitions. See Set Up Stage Transitions.
              2. Add step definitions for each stage. See Add Step Definitions.
              3. Clone stage definitions. See Clone Stage Definitions.
            3. Configure flexible stage progressions using stage definition assignments. See Configure Flexible Stage Progressions using Stage Definition Assignment and Stage Assignment Rule Criteria.
