          Create Configuration Item Tag

          Create a configuration item (CI) tag to classify CIs and improve search and filtering across CMDB records, lists, and workflows . Use tags to represent operational, business, or environment-specific metadata on a CI record.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
          Available in: Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions with Agentforce IT Service that have CMDB and Service Graph enabled.
          User Permissions Needed
          To create CI tags: IT Service Configuration Item Owner
          1. From the App Launcher, find and select CMDB and Service Graph.
          2. In the navigation panel, select Configuration Items, and then select All Configuration Items.
          3. Select the CI where you want to add a tag.
          4. On the CI record page, click New CI Tag in the Configuration Item Tags section.
          5. Complete the fields:
            Field Description
            Name Name of the CI tag. For example, Environment.
            Value Value associated with the tag. Values appear after the tag name. For example, Environment:Prod. To add multiple values for a tag, click Add Value.
            Description Optional description for the CI tag.
          6. Click Save.

          You can use the Search field in the Configuration Item Tags section to associate the tags to the CI record.

          After you create CI tags, you can search and filter related configuration items more efficiently across CMDB records, lists, and workflows.
