CMDB Enterprise
The CMDB Enterprise license enables organizations to manage enterprise Configuration Items (CIs) and applies usage-based metering for qualifying configuration items.

Enterprise Configuration Items
Enterprise CIs represent any configuration item that isn’t an end-user endpoint. Servers, cloud resources, application services, and network devices are considered Enterprise CIs.
Enterprise CI Metering
CMDB meters active enterprise configuration items. A configuration item is considered active if it's been created or updated within the last 90 days.
Enterprise CI Metering Categories
The table describes how configuration item (CI) categories are classified for CMDB enterprise metering:
| CI Category | Description | Metered | Examples |
|---|---|---|---|
| End-User endpoints | Any CI under Compute that isn’t a server or a descendant of the server CI Type. | No | Windows host, Mac host, mobile device, mobile phone, or tablet |
| Component CIs | Secondary CI Types that exist as associations to parent CI types. | No | Installed software, network adapter components, or storage disk |
| Enterprise CIs | Any CI that isn’t an end-user endpoint is an enterprise CI | Yes | Servers, cloud resources, or network devices |
Important
- Custom CI types created under the end-user endpoints are also treated as end-user compute devices.
- Custom CI Types created under enterprise CIs are also classified as enterprise CIs.
