View Policy Documents in Microsoft Word for IT Compliance
Open your policy records in Microsoft Word to draft and refine content using familiar
word-processing tools. The Salesforce Policy Connector ensures you are editing the latest version
and synchronizes your changes back to Salesforce.
Required Editions
Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited
Editions with Agentforce IT Service.
To edit a policy or clause version in Word, the record must be in Draft, Review, or Pending
Approval status. Published, Active, or Retired records are read-only.
From the App Launcher, find and select IT Compliance, and then
select Compliance Policy Versions.
Open the Compliance Policy version you want to edit in Microsoft Word.
Click Open Document in M365 from a Compliance Policy record to open
the policy in Microsoft Word.
Alternatively, open a policy using Smart Policy Authoring tools.
From a Compliance Policy record, click Smart Policy
Authoring.
Select Collaborate on Microsoft 365.
Select the policy version you want to open.
Click Got It.
The policy will open in Microsoft Word in a new tab.
In the Microsoft Word window, click the More Options tab and select
Salesforce Policy Connector for Microsoft Word.
The Salesforce add-in will load in the side panel.
Review the following document metadata.
Confirm you're editing the correct policy and policy version.
Confirm that the Policy is in the correct status to be editable.
View the timestamp of the last successful sync with Salesforce.
To pull the latest updates from Salesforce into your Word document, click
Refresh.
