Install the IT Service Data Kit
A data kit helps you easily package Data 360 components such as data model objects, data streams, and then readily deploy the components in an org of your choice. You can install the data kit package for Agentforce IT Service in your org, deploy the data streams, and activate the search indexes.

The IT Services Data Kit includes three data stream bundles: IT Service Core, IT Service Analytics, and IT Service Knowledge Engagement. Before you can deploy the data kit, you must create the Ingestion API connector and the Knowledge Engagement data stream that the IT Service Knowledge Engagement bundle depends on. Without this connector and data stream in place, the data kit deployment fails.
-
Set up the data space that the IT Services Data Kit will deploy into.
-
Go to the Data Cloud for IT Service page within Salesforce Go.
If you don’t see this option, refresh your page, or log out and log back in with your admin user credentials.
-
In the Set Up the Basics section, click Manage Data Space.
This data space is used by Agentforce IT Service and serves as the data source for analytics dashboards.
- Select a data space and save your changes.
-
Go to the Data Cloud for IT Service page within Salesforce Go.
-
Create the Knowledge Engagement Ingestion API connector and data stream. This step is a
mandatory prerequisite for the IT Services Data Kit deployment, because the IT Service
Knowledge Engagement bundle binds to this connector at deploy time.
- In the Data 360 app, click the Data Streams tab, and then click New.
- In the New Data Stream dialog, on the Data Kits tab, confirm that Data Space is set to your target data space.
-
From the list of data kits, select IT Services Data Kit.
The IT Service Knowledge Engagement bundle and the Knowledge Engagement-KnowledgeArticleView bundle item appear, with Connector type set to Ingestion API. Both rows are selected by default.
- Click Next.
-
In the Connect an Ingestion API Source dialog, in
Connector Name, enter KA_Engagement, and then
click Save.
The connector name KA_Engagement is hard-coded. The data kit deployment looks for this exact name, so any other value causes the deployment to fail.
-
On the Review your data stream fields screen, review the
pre-mapped fields and click Next.
The Knowledge Engagement data stream ships with pre-mapped fields. The Primary Key is Id, the Category is Engagement, and the Event Time Field is Timestamp. You don’t need to add or modify any fields.
- On the Deploy Data Streams summary screen, verify the data stream and click Deploy.
-
Deploy the IT Services Data Kit bundles.
- From Salesforce Go, on the Data Cloud for IT Service page, click Go to Setup and select IT Services Data Kit. Alternatively, in Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Data Kits, click Data Kits, and then select IT Services Data Kit.
- Click Data Kit Deploy.
- In the Deploy dialog, select your Data Space.
- For the IT Service Core bundle, enter the org ID.
- For the IT Service Analytics bundle, enter the org ID.
-
For the IT Service Knowledge Engagement bundle, in Connector
Name, select KA_Engagement.
This is the connector that you created in the previous step.
-
Click Deploy.
The deployment first deploys all data streams, and then all search indexes in a specific sequence. If an error occurs, the deployment stops.
-
As an alternative to deploying the entire data kit, an administrator can deploy individual
data stream bundles or search indexes.
- To deploy a specific data stream bundle, go to the Data Streams tab, click New, select Salesforce CRM, and choose a bundle from the list.
- To deploy a specific search index, go to the Search Indexes tab, click New, and select the required index from the list.
