            Download and Install the Discovery Application

            Use the Discovery Application to perform agentless scans and collect asset data without installing software on each device. The Discovery Application runs on a Windows host and securely connects with your network to detect systems, identify configurations, and send discovery data to Configuration Management Database (CMDB) for processing.

            Required Editions

            Available in: Lightning Experience
            Available in: Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions with Agentforce IT Service that have Discovery enabled.
            User Permissions Needed
            Manage Discovery Application IT Service Asset Discovery
            1. From App Launcher, find and select CMDB and Service Graph.
            2. From the navigation panel, select Administration, and then select Discovery.
            3. Click Download Application.
            4. On the Download Discovery Application page, copy the registration token.
              The registration token is required during the installation of your discovery application on your Windows host to link the discovery with the Salesforce org. Registration token makes sure that the authentication is secure and allows CMDB to receive discovery data from the installed application.
            5. Click Download to download the Windows discovery application installer.
              The Discovery Application setup file is downloaded and ready to be installed on a Windows host.
            6. Run the installer on yout Windows host to start the installation wizard.
            7. Accept the license terms and conditions.
            8. Paste the registration token that you copied from the Download Application page and complete the installation

            After installation, the discovery application is added automatically to the Applications page under Discovery in Administration.

            From the Applications list, view application details or disable the application if needed. Installed applications are enabled by default and run in the background for agentless scanning.
