            Monitor and Review Scan Jobs

            Monitor discovery progress and review scan results with scan jobs. Each scan job tracks the execution of a discovery target and provides detailed visibility into discovered assets, scan duration, and completion status. Use the scan job details to verify discovery coverage and ensure that your CMDB data remains accurate and up to date.

            Required Editions

            Available in: Lightning Experience
            Available in: Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions with Agentforce IT Service that have Discovery enabled.

            Scan jobs are created automatically when discovery targets run. Each scan job record captures key information about the scan’s execution and outcome. From the Scan Jobs page, you can review job progress, analyze discovered assets, and refresh scan results for the most recent updates.

            Key Sections in a Scan Job Record

            Section Description
            Host Summary Shows a high-level summary of the scan, including total resources discovered, categorized asset types, and counts for successful or failed discoveries. Use this section to quickly understand scan completeness and success rate.
            Scan Details Provides in-depth details about the scan, such as target name, probe type, start and end times, scan duration, credentials used, frequency, and discovery activity. Review this information to trace scan performance or troubleshoot issues.
            Discovered Assets

            Lists the assets identified during the scan. Use the tabs on the page to view specific information about discovered assets:

            • All lists every discovered asset.
            • New lists assets identified for the first time.
            • Updated lists assets with data changes from the previous scans.

            The Refresh option retrieves the latest scan data and updates the page with the most current results. Use this option to confirm post-scan updates after data processing completes.
