            Run a Process Job

            Run a process job to analyze discovery data and map relationships between configuration items (CIs) in Configuration Management Database (CMDB). Process jobs help create meaningful associations between assets, applications, and services, enabling administrators to visualize how components interact across environments.

            Required Editions

            Available in: Lightning Experience
            Available in: Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions with Agentforce IT Service that have Discovery enabled.

            Manage Discovery Application IT Service Asset Discovery

            Make sure that you complete a discovery scan to populate CMDB with asset data and the required discovery data is available for analysis.

            Each process job analyzes a specific data dimension such as applications, networks, or cloud resources. Running these jobs improves CMDB accuracy and supports service impact analysis.

            1. From App Launcher, find and select CMDB and Service Graph.
            2. In the navigations pane, in Administration, select Discovery, and then Process Manager.
            3. Select Process Jobs and then click New.
            4. Select the process job as per the following table:
              Process Job Description
              Application Dependency Mapping (ADM) Identifies dependencies between applications and infrastructure components by analyzing network connections and processes.
              Cloud Hierarchy Builds relationships between cloud infrastructure components such as AWS and Azure resources and their dependencies in CMDB.
              DevOps Creates relationships between configuration items that support DevOps workloads including IIS, MySQL, and Apache.
              Software Installation Maps installed software, license keys, and CIs to track software usage and installations across CMDB.
              vCenter Hierarchy Builds hierarchical relationships between datacenters, clusters, folders, hosts, and virtual machines within a vCenter environment.
            5. Click Run.
              The process jobs start immediately and is added to the process jobs list. When the job completes, the updated relationship data appears in CMDB.

            You can stop a running process job by using the record-level action on the Process Jobs page. Stopping a job immediately ends the process and prevents further updates to CMDB for that run.
