How Performance Priming Briefcases Work

How Performance Priming Briefcases Work

After you turn on Performance Priming, Field Service creates offline briefcases that control which records and metadata sync to mobile clients. Use this topic to understand how those briefcases are generated and updated.

Required Editions

Available in: both Salesforce Classic (not available in all orgs) and Lightning Experience
The Field Service core features, managed package, and mobile app are available in Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions.
To access the Field Service mobile app, users need the Field Service Mobile user license.

When you save Field Service Settings with Performance Priming turned on, Field Service generates briefcases for each eligible profile. Nightly scheduled jobs regenerate briefcases so they stay current. Users can open the notification bell to see when briefcases change.

Performance Priming briefcases are read-only in Briefcase Builder. Change which records are primed by updating the page layouts and list views assigned to profiles. After you change layouts or list views, manually regenerate Performance Priming briefcases or wait for automatic regeneration.
