Tableau Next App Features by License
Find out which Tableau Next features and analytics app capabilities are available based on your license type.
Required Editions

Tableau Next Analytics apps are available with three license types. Your license determines which analytics content you can view and create.
- Tableau Next Limited Consumer — Provides read-only access to pre-built (out-of-the-box) app content only. No AI features.
- Tableau Next Standard Consumer — Can view custom content created by Standard Creators. Includes AI features such as Concierge and Inspector alerts.
- Tableau Next Standard Creator — Can create and edit custom content, in addition to all Standard Consumer capabilities.
Considerations
- Limited Consumer licenses are already included in Salesforce Foundations and A4X editions at no additional cost.
- You need at least one Tableau Next Creator license to unlock the out-of-the-box (OOTB) app semantic model for editing. Once unlocked, Limited Consumers can view the customized OOTB content.
- Cloned dashboards and visualization are treated as new content and are not accessible to Limited Consumers.
- Workspaces, Semantic Data Models (SDM), visualizations, and dashboards honor data access controls (DAC) and are shareable assets. Other asset types are not shareable.
