Configure the Visualforce Barcode Scanner Page for Point-of-Entry Verification

Safety Cloud comes with a Visualforce page that you can use to scan SMART Health Card QR codes. You can load the Visualforce page on any browser. After it’s scanned, the QR code’s payload is extracted and verified by the Safety Cloud health card verification service.

1. From Setup, in the Quick find box, enter Digital Experiences, and then select All Sites.
2. From the All Sites page, click New.
3. Scroll to the Salesforce Tabs + Visualforce template, select it, and then click Get Started.
4. Enter a name for the Visualforce page, and optionally specify a URL.
   If you don’t specify a URL name, the system creates it for you.

   The URL is the site of the Visualforce Barcode Scanner page.

5. Click Create.

   It can take a few minutes to create the site. When the site creation finishes, you must configure the site.

6. To configure the page, select Administration.
7. Set the user authorization requirements for the page.
   1. From the left side panel of the Administration page, click Members.
      You can set authorization by profile or by permission set.
   2. Select from the available profiles or permission sets, and add them to the Selected Profiles or Selected Permission Sets window.
      Any users who have the profiles or permission sets that you specify on the Members page can access and use the scanner site as soon as the site is activated.
   3. Save your changes.
   4. Assign Safety Cloud HealthCard Self Register PermissionSetGroup to the users who need access to the page.
8. Set the tabs to include on the Visualforce Barcode Scanner site.
   1. From the left side panel of the Administration page, click Tabs.
   2. From the Selected Tabs window, remove Chatter.
      Chatter is a selected tab by default, but it’s not needed for the Visualforce Barcode Scanner site.
   3. From the Available Tabs window, select Health Card Scanner, and add it to the Selected Tabs window.
   4. Save your changes.
9. Set the login experience and branding for the Visualforce Barcode Scanner site.
   1. From the left side panel of the Administration page, click Login & Registration.
   2. Click the Allow employees to log in directly to an Experience Cloud site checkbox.
   3. Save your changes.
10. Configure the page requirements for the Visualforce Barcode Scanner site.
    1. From the left side panel of the Administration page, click Pages.
    2. Set the Home Page to Visualforce Page.
       1. Using the Lookup feature for the Home Page field, search for Health Card Scanner.
       2. Select HealthCardScanner.
       3. Save your changes.
    3. Use the look-up feature to Use your own static resource .
11. Activate the Visualforce Barcode Scanner site.
    1. From the left side panel of the Administration page, click Settings.
    2. Click Activate Site, and click OK to the information message.
