          Point-of-Entry Health Verification

          Point-of-Entry Health Verification

SMART Health Card holders can scan their SMART Health Card for point-of-entry health verification. Safety Cloud provides an out-of-the-box Visualforce barcode scanner page that can be installed on any browser.

          Required Editions

Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions

When a card holder presents their SMART Health Card to the Visualforce barcode scanner page on a verifier’s device, these processes occur.

          1. The Visualforce barcode scanner page uses the device’s front-facing camera to scan the QR code on the SMART Health Card.
          2. After it’s scanned, the Health Card Verification service in Salesforce Core extracts and verifies the QR code payload (vaccination data or laboratory test data).
          3. The verification results are returned and displayed to the Visualforce page for the verifier and card holder to see.
          4. A Health Card record is saved in Salesforce.

The Health Card record represents proof of the scanned SMART Health Card. It also includes information from the SMART Health Card.

Safety Cloud links the Health Card record to the user’s Health Verification record, providing a comprehensive account of the user’s health status.

If the Health Card record associated with the Health Verification record has a status of Verified, you can apply automation logic that says, “Verify each Health Verification record automatically.”

            Note
Note A Health Card’s verified' status simply indicates that Safety Cloud read the card’s payload and determined that everything checks out cryptographically. It’s up to the organization to decide if that’s enough for automatic health verification.
