The Scheduling and Optimization settings for field work are organized into sections that follow
how appointments move through Workforce Scheduling: how appointments are created, how they’re
scheduled, and how the schedule is optimized.
Service Appointments
Set default due dates for auto-created service appointments, and map appointment lifecycle
events to the service appointment status.
Scheduling
Set default operating hours for the field scheduling flow and travel-time defaults, turn on
appointment sliding, and pin appointments by status.
Optimization
Set pin criteria and commit modes for global, in-day, and resource optimization.
Configure Optimization for Field Work in Workforce Scheduling Configure org-level defaults for field-work optimization, including pin criteria and commit mode for global, in-day, and resource schedule optimization runs. Optimization is relevant to field appointments only.
Guidelines for Using Workforce Scheduling Commit Mode Learn what happens when a dispatcher or scheduling operation makes a change to the schedule that conflicts with an ongoing optimization process, and how the system behaves depending on the selected Commit Mode.
