Considerations
- Changes made through the SObject API or a record page bypass scheduling logic. To keep schedules consistent, use the scheduling flows.
- Salesforce Shield tracks changes to the primary entity, not to related entities.
- Automatic scheduling and optimization apply to field appointments only.
- Lunch breaks are added automatically for field resources. For on-site resources, record breaks manually as absences.
- Avoid overlapping field and on-site shifts or operating hours for the same resource.
- Travel time is calculated from a resource's home base to the first appointment and from the last appointment back to the home base.
- Service Schedule Requests (SSR) are read-only for users. Therefore, you can't create or edit them. Only the Cloud Integration user can create SSR records.
