Complete the setup required for Data Capture. A Data Capture screen can contain questions or components, but not both. If you add a component to a screen that already has questions, a message prompts you to remove the questions first.
- From Setup, find and select Flows.
- Click New Flow.
- Select Data Capture Flow.
- Add a screen element to your flow.
- Enter a label and an API name for the screen element.
-
Select the Questions tab.
The assessment questions that you created with Discovery Framework appear on the Questions tab. Questions are organized by set and category, so you can find the ones that belong to a checklist and add them in a logical order.
-
Drag the required assessment questions onto the flow canvas.
To find the right questions quickly, use the search box in Flow Builder. After you add a question, preview it right away without leaving Flow Builder.
Set properties and conditional logic for each question. With Data Capture Flow, you control whether a question is visible based on conditions. Use expressions to define these conditions. You can't use the output of other questions in these expressions. Instead, use external data sources or user profile information to manage question visibility. See Define Conditions in a Flow.
For regulatory inspections, inspectors set the compliance status for each question, and a status marked as violating generates a Regulatory Code Violation record when the form is submitted. See Regulatory Compliance and Automated Violations.
-
Click Done.
To set values for the assessment record fields, use the assessment record variable. For example, to update the status of the assessment record to Completed after a mobile worker submits the form, edit the assessment record variable and mark it as Available for output. Then add an Assignment element to the flow, and use the assessment record variable in the Assignment element to set the assessment status to Completed. This approach makes sure that the assessment status is updated correctly after a mobile worker submits the form.
- Save your changes.
- Enter a flow label and an API name, and then save the flow.
- Activate the flow.
