About National Change of Address Updates

National Change of Address (NCOA) updates in Data Integrity make it easy for you to keep up with constituents when they update their address. NCOA updates may also qualify your organization for postal discounts.

Only US, Canadian, and UK addresses are supported for NCOA updates. UK gone-away addresses are also supported. If you set up a National Change of Address provider using a Melissa Data SmartMover license or with Data8, you can schedule one-time or recurring NCOA updates to keep up with constituents when they move.

When an NCOA update is found, a new Address record with a new Address ID is created for the Household Account. If the old Address record was set as the Default Address for the Household Account and its Contacts, the new Address is set as the new Default Address.
