Considerations for Scheduling Accounting Subledger Jobs

Here are some considerations to help you determine the best schedule for your business needs:

• When do most of your transactions happen? If most of them occur from Monday to Friday, running a weekly Accounting Subledger job on weekends makes sense.
• How granular do you want your data to be? A weekly job potentially processes more data while producing less granularity. For example, you enter a US$150 payment for your goods fund on Monday. Then you refund $50 of it on Tuesday, and change its fund to a services fund on Thursday. If the job runs weekly on Sundays, Salesforce generates one $100 payment in the services fund.
• Most accounting teams reconcile their books monthly (or more frequently), so we recommend that you schedule the Accounting Subledger job to run at least one time per month. For example, set up a job run on the first day, the last day, or a few days after the month starts if you need time to finalize data.
