The Attendance Management Agent resolves unexpected student absences through a natural
voice conversation. It captures a parent or guardian's explanation for an absence and updates the
student's official attendance record, without manual review.

Use the Attendance Management Agent to resolve unexpected student absences. When a student is
marked absent, a flow sends the family an SMS message that prompts the parent or guardian to
call a voice agent. A second flow routes the family to a voice conversation with the voice
agent. The voice agent captures the parent or guardian's explanation and updates the student's
official attendance record. You can set up a separate flow that sends the responsible
instructor a Slack message about the student's attendance. Campus teams stay aligned with
families.
For example, a student misses two consecutive classes, and both instructors mark the student
absent. A notification process texts the parent or guardian and prompts them to connect to the
voice agent about the missed classes. The agent captures the reason from the voice call.
Because the institution trusts a parent or guardian's call as strong evidence, both entries
resolve automatically as excused, without staff review. Attendance then notifies staff and the
student's next instructor with the expected arrival time.
The Attendance Management Agent includes one subagent and these actions.
