Configure Course Waitlists

Set student enrollment priority and timing, and add prebuilt flows to manage seat availability and enrollment notifications.

  1. From Setup, find and select Set Up Education Cloud.
  2. Click Set Up Academic Operations.
  3. Click Configure Course Waitlists.
  4. Add fields to determine a student’s position on a waitlist.
    For each field, set its priority for consideration and a sorting order. Waitlist Score is typically the first field for consideration. Define the score based on your academic policies, such as the number of credits already earned to give senior students higher priority. The same student can have different scores on different waitlists. Set the evaluation in a descending order to put the student with the highest score at the top of the waitlist.

    To add students to the waitlist first-come, first-served, add the Added to Waitlist field and set the evaluation in an ascending order.

    1. In the Set Waitlist Position section, click Add Field.
    2. For Waitlist Position Determined By, select a sortable field.
    3. Select a sort order for the values in this field.
    4. For Waitlist Position Field Order, enter a number to specify the field’s priority.
      The first field that you add is in position 1 by default.
    5. Click Add Field.
    6. Repeat these steps to add more fields.
    7. To reorder, edit, or delete a field, select an action from the Action dropdown next to each field.
  5. In the Set Enrollment Offer Expiration section, for Hours, enter the number of hours that the student has to accept an enrollment offer.
  6. To automate course waitlist management, in the Set Up Waitlist Management Flows section, click Configure Flows, and create your own versions of these prebuilt flows.
