Create a Learner Pathway Global Action

Create a Learner Pathway Global Action

To simplify your learners’ pathway building experience, set up a new global action to create a learner pathway record.

          Editions Needed
          Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions with Education Cloud
          User Permissions Needed
To create a global action: Education Cloud Full Access

When you create the global action, hide the Status field because it’s irrelevant to learners and could cause confusion. To clearly associate a new pathway with the learner creating it, set the learner contact field to default to the contact ID.

          1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Actions, and then select Global Actions.
          2. Click New Action.
          3. Select Create a Record as the action type.
          4. Select Learner Pathway as the target object.
          5. Enter a name and description.
          6. Save your changes.
          7. Leave the Status field hidden on the learner pathway layout. Arrange other fields as desired. Fill at least the Name, Learner Contact, and Description fields.
          8. Save your changes.
          9. In Predefined Field Values, click New.
          10. Select Learner Contact as the field name.
          11. In Formula Value, enter $User.ContactId.
          12. Save your changes.
