From the App Launcher (), find and select Gift Designations.
Click New.
For Name, enter a name for the designation. For example, enter Earthquake Relief Fund.
To allocate the gift designation when a gift entry is processed, select Active.
Note New gift designations are saved as active, even if you don't select Active.
To use the designation for all unrestricted gifts, select Default.
Keep in mind that processing a high number of records on a designation can cause data skew. To avoid data skew, review the parent-child data skew to determine how often to use a new default designation based on the volume of records you process on the designation.
Save your changes, and create other gift designations as needed.
