Configure Fundraising Settings in Education
After you turn on Fundraising, configure general Fundraising settings for extension day and transaction counts, gift entry, and donor matching.
| User Permissions Needed | |
|---|---|
| To configure Fundraising settings: |
- In Setup, search for Fundraising, and select Fundraising Settings.
-
In Installment Extension Day Count, enter how many days before or after a due date an
unpaid gift commitment transaction is marked as a new installment.
An unpaid transaction within this grace period is considered a gift transaction.
Important We don't recommend setting this count to zero because it shrinks the transaction-to-installment matching window down to only one exact date. An exact date matching window can incorrectly set unpaid gifts as lapsed. -
In Lapsed Unpaid Transaction Count, specify the number of sequentially unpaid installments
that changes the gift commitment status to Lapsed.
If the Unpaid Transaction Count is set to zero, then the status doesn't update.
-
In Failing Transaction Count, specify the number of sequentially failed installments that
changes the gift commitment status to Failing.
If the Failing Transaction Count is set to zero, then the status doesn't update.
-
To autocreate the next transaction in a recurring schedule, select Create
Recurring Schedule Transaction.
If you decline to turn on this setting, always manually create the next transaction in recurring schedules.
-
To close a recurring commitment when it has no ongoing or future schedule and no unpaid
transactions, select Auto Close Recurring Commitment.
The gift commitment auto-closes when the start date and end date on the schedule has passed.
- To use enhanced concurrent gift commitment processing, turn on NextGen Commitment Processing. For more information, see Schedule a Gift Commitment Batch Processing Job in Nonprofit.
-
To set a field to use as the external ID for donor lookup during gift entry, select the
custom field from the External ID picklist.
By default, the donor name is used for the lookup. When a unique external ID matches an existing Account record, donor lookup uses the external ID and donor name.
- To turn on donor matching for the Business Process API, in the Donor Matching Method list, select Duplicate Management Rules.
- For a flexible table format for gift entry, in Setup, search for Fundraising, select Gift Entry, and turn on Gift Entry Grid.
- Save your changes.
