Student Recruitment Agent Creation with AI Tools
A guided session creates a draft Student Recruitment Agent to answer prospective students' admissions questions, capture inquiries, and register them for campus events. When you describe your recruitment process to a coding agent, it turns on platform features, configures permissions and Data 360 grounding, and builds the draft agent for you to finalize and deploy.

Scenario
A Salesforce admin at your institution wants to deploy a Student Recruitment Agent to help the admissions team automate repetitive inquiries about programs, applications, and campus visits. Rather than completing dozens of manual configuration steps across multiple setup areas, the admin connects a coding agent to the Headless 360 MCP Server (Beta) and describes the recruitment process. The agent turns on required features, configures permissions and sharing, builds Data 360 grounding, and creates a draft agent in one guided session. The admin then adds content and deploys the agent.
Requirements
- Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, or Developer Edition with Education Cloud, in Lightning Experience
- These licenses and add-ons:
- Education Cloud
- Einstein for Education Cloud
- Data 360
- Applicable Agentforce add-on licenses
- Education Cloud Full Access permission set. The agent checks for and assigns the required permission sets based on your privileges, so it never grants access that you don't have.
- Education Cloud foundation turned on and Person Accounts turned on. See Agentforce Education Org Configuration with AI Tools.
- Data 360 licensed and provisioned in your org. The coding agent uses Data 360 but doesn't provision it.
- A coding agent, such as Agentforce Vibes or Claude Code, connected to the Headless 360 MCP Server (Beta) with access to Education Cloud setup skills. For Agentforce Vibes, no installation is required. Agentforce Vibes installs, enables, and updates AI Skills automatically. You can manage them from the Skills page, under Toolkit, in Agentforce Vibes. For Claude Code, install the Salesforce Development plugin, which provides Salesforce-specific skills and org context through hosted Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers.
Suggested Technology and Experience
Recommended for Salesforce admins who are comfortable with Setup and with running a coding agent against a connected org. No prior experience with a specific skill is required.

Agentic Tips
- Decide which agent type is required before you start. The coding agent configures an agent for unauthenticated users, an agent for authenticated users, or both. Each agent deploys to its own Experience Cloud site.
- Describe your goal in your own words. For example:
- "The admissions team is getting overwhelmed with prospective student questions. I'd like to set up the Student Recruitment Agent to help handle inquiries about programs, applications, and campus information."
- "Set up the Student Recruitment Agent for prospective students."
- Approve each change. The agent explains what it's about to do and pauses for your confirmation before it turns on a feature or creates, updates, or deletes a record.
- Plan for grounding content. When the agent reaches knowledge grounding, it offers to draft placeholder articles, asks you to supply your own, or asks you to defer. The agent can't answer well until it has access to published, admissions-relevant knowledge.
- Avoid pasting credentials into a prompt. The agent acts as your authenticated user through the connected org.
Design Considerations
- The coding agent creates a draft agent. It doesn't create your admissions data, such as academic terms, programs, or applications, and it doesn't publish knowledge. You add your data and content and finish deployment.

Create the Student Recruitment Agent with a Coding Agent

Before you start:
- Set up your org for the Salesforce Hosted MCP
Servers, including an External Client App with the
mcp_apiscope. - Activate the Headless 360 MCP Server (Beta).
- Connect your coding agents.
Then, create the Student Recruitment Agent.
- Ask the coding agent to set up the Student Recruitment Agent, and specify whether you want an authenticated agent, unauthenticated agent, or both.
- Review the report as the agent turns on required platform features and verifies that licenses and permissions are in place.
- Have the agent configure the required permission sets, sharing, and object access.
- When prompted, select how to handle knowledge articles while the agent sets up Data 360 grounding.
- Have the agent create the Student Recruitment Agent in draft.
- In Salesforce, complete manual steps that the coding agent lists.
- Add your admissions data and published knowledge, customize the draft agent, and deploy it.
