Manage Career Planning and Life Goals Experience on the Portal

After Charlie saves the configuration, the career planning and life goals experience for students appear on the portal. Sophia logs in to Connected University's student portal and goes to the Career Planning and Life Goals page to manage her goals and plans.

Note This example uses common portal configurations and field values. Customize these settings to meet your institution's needs.

1. Go to the Assessments tab. The tab shows Assessment Library (all assessments published to the portal) and Student Assessments (in-progress and completed assessments) sections.
2. Select the Strengths Snapshot assessment and answer the questions.

   After submitting, the assessment appears in the Student Assessments component, the Completed tab. Sophia can review responses at any time and retake the assessment as preferences evolve.
3. Go to the Involvement Groups and Competencies tab, click Find Involvement Groups to browse the campus group library. Sophia can see each group's description, type, category, whether it’s university-sponsored, already a member, and whether self-enrollment is available. Sophia selects The Ink Society and reviews the group detail page. Sophia sees the competencies that students can earn by joining.
4. Add Creative Thinking as an interested competency.

5. Join The Ink Society by adding involvement. Sophia can only join groups that are open for self-enrolment.

   After saving, The Ink Society appears in Sophia's Involvement Groups and Competencies list and Creative Thinking appears in the Interested tab of the Student Competencies component.
6. Go to the Goals tab. In the Student Competencies component, update the Public Speaking competency to reflect the progress made.

   After saving, Public Speaking moves from the Interested tab to the Acquired tab.
7. Add the first life goal.

   After saving, the goal appears in Sophia's goals list. Sophia can go to the goal to view open and completed tasks and add new tasks to track progress.
