Protect Application Data
Use multiple strategies to make sure that data is safe from unwanted access.

In the application process, you collect data from the applicant across multiple objects. By default, the Salesforce record creator is the owner. To protect access to data after it's created, consider implementing one or more of these security measures to protect applicant and application data.
| Security Measure | What Can I Do? |

| Object-Level Security | Use permission sets to protect objects that you don't want Experience Cloud users to access. |
| Field-Level Security | Prevent users from seeing or editing specific fields on an object. For example, it's reasonable for the applicant to have read access to the Amount Paid field on the individual application record so that they can see the amount collected. However, to protect against the accidental or fraudulent changing of values, don't give permission to edit Amount Paid. |
| Record-Level Security | Grant access to only specific records to Experience Cloud users. |
| Ownership Transfer | Transfer the ownership of specific records, such as an individual application record, from the creator to the appropriate parties. |
| Sharing Sets | Use sharing sets for Experience Cloud users to have access to the appropriate records. |
