          Set Up Virtual Appointments

          Set Up Virtual Appointments

Host appointments from anywhere by setting up virtual calls with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Chime SDK or another video call service. Education Cloud's appointment feature seamlessly integrates with AWS, and lets your users join calls directly from the Salesforce app or the self-service portal. Turn on closed captioning to meet accessibility standards to support all your learners.

Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience in Performance, Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions where the Education Cloud license is enabled.

Who: Only users with the Education Cloud Objects and Components permission set and who meet these requirements can access this feature:

          • Have an AWS account dedicated to the Salesforce Virtual Calls Console application workload.
          • Can run an AWS CloudFormation template.
          • Have access to the AWS Console or AWS Command Line Interface.

          How:

          • Create a connected app on the App Manager page in Setup.
          • Deploy AWS services using the AWS Partner Solution.
          • Create named credentials for virtual calls on the Name Credentials page in Setup.
          • Add a page for virtual calls on your Experience site.
          • Configure virtual calls on the Video Call Configuration page in Setup.
          • Add the video call component to your app utility bar on the App Manager page in Setup.
