Set Up the Org and Learner Portal for Career Planning and Life Goals
John, the Connected University admin, sets up the org for career planning and life goals, adds and configures the career planning and life goals components to the learner portal, and gives advisors the tools to manage student progress.
To establish the infrastructure for student career planning, John completes the main phases of configuration.
Note This example uses common portal configurations and field values. Customize these
settings to meet your institution's needs.
- Set up the org: Turn on Student Success and Discovery Framework in org-wide settings. Configure default object access, custom profiles, permission sets, and record types for competencies, involvement groups, and assessments. Customize picklist values for fields like activity season, proficiency level, and verification status.
- Set up the learner portal: Use Experience Builder to add and configure a career planning and life goals hub for students page.
- Set up components for advisors: Customize the Student Success app for advisors to track a student’s progress. Add career planning components to case record pages, and build dedicated app pages for resume and assessment workflows.
