Set Up the Student Financials Agent

Configure the Student Financials Agent to answer student questions about fees.

Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions with Education Cloud, Revenue Cloud Advanced, and Revenue Cloud Billing licenses, and the applicable Agentforce add-on license. For more support, contact your Salesforce account executive.
User Permissions Needed
To set up and create an AI agent for Education Cloud:

Education Cloud Full Access

AND

Manage Agentforce Service Agents

AND

Manage AI Agents

  1. Set up Agentforce for Education Cloud.
  2. Assign these permission sets to the student user:
    • Education Cloud for Experience Cloud Access
    • Einstein for Education Cloud Access
    • Prompt Template User
    • Run Flows
    • Salesforce Pricing Runtime User
    • Education Cloud Student Financials for Experience Cloud Access
    • Education Cloud Advanced Academic Operations for Experience Cloud Access
    • Billing Einstein Experience Cloud User
    • Billing Experience Cloud User
  3. Make sure that these object permissions are set in the Education Cloud for Experience Cloud Access permission set.
    • Academic Term: Read
    • Academic Session: Read
    • Academic Year: Read
    • Academic Term Enrollment: Read
    • Account: Read
  4. Make sure that these object permissions are set in the Education Cloud Student Financials for Experience Cloud Access permission set.
    • Order: Read
    • Order Product: Read
    • Academic Order: Read
  5. In the Education Cloud Student Financials for Experience Cloud Access permission set, set the field-level security for the Order Details Identifier field on the Academic Order object to Visible.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Permission Sets, and then select Permission Sets.
    2. Click Education Cloud Student Financials for Experience Cloud Access.
    3. Click Object Settings, and then click Academic Order.
    4. Click Edit, select Read Access for Order Details Identifier, and then save your changes.
  6. Update the sharing settings on objects required for the Student Financials Agent.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Sharing Settings, and then select Sharing Settings.
    2. Under Default Sharing Settings, click Edit.
    3. Modify the default internal and external access for these objects.

    4. Save your changes.
  7. Create a sharing set for students to access their Account and Academic Term Enrollment records. See Create a Sharing Set for Experience Cloud Site Users.
  8. Provide staff users the permissions to run flows.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Permission Sets, and then select Permission Sets.
    2. Click Clone next to Education Cloud Full Access.
    3. Enter a label and an API name for the permission set, and then save your changes.
    4. Click the new permission set, and then click App Permissions.
    5. Click Edit, select Run Flows, and then save your changes.
    6. Assign the new permission set to your staff users. See Manage Permission Set Assignments.
  9. Configure the EDU Student Financials: Get Fee Details for Academic Order flow and its related features to meet your needs.
  10. Turn on the Student Financials Agent.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, find and select Set Up Education Cloud.
    2. Turn on Set Up Student Financial Account Management.
    3. Expand Set Up Agentforce for Education Cloud.
    4. Turn on Student Financial Account Management Agent.
  11. Create a Student Financial Agent from an Agentforce Employee Agent template.
  12. Configure the Student Financials Agent.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, find and select Agentforce Agents.
    2. Launch Student Financial Agent in Agentforce Builder.
    3. From the sidebar, select Subagents.
    4. On the Subagents panel, click New, and then select Add from Asset Library.
    5. Select these subagents and then click Finish.
      • Student Account Management
      • Student Fee Management
      • Student Billing Inquiries
    6. Use the tabs to access additional configuration options.
    7. Save and activate the agent.
  13. Add your agent to your Experience Cloud site portal.
    1. For authenticated users, see Connect an Employee Agent to Employee Channels.
