Set Up the Student Goals Agent for Students

Configure the autonomous Student Goals Agent for students to define and achieve life goals. The AI-powered guidance is based on the student's profile, preferences, and assessment insights within the Experience Cloud site. Students can find information about campus resources, such as services, activities, clubs, programs, courses, or action plans.

Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions with Education Cloud, Einstein for Education Cloud, and Flex Credits Metering add-on licenses.
User Permissions Needed
To set up and create an AI agent for Education Cloud: Education Cloud Full Access
  1. Set up Agentforce for Education Cloud.
  2. Assign these permission sets to the student user:
    • Education Cloud for Experience Cloud Access
    • Einstein for Education Cloud Access
    • Prompt Template User
    • Data Cloud User
  3. Set these object permissions in your Education Cloud for Experience Cloud Access permission set.
    • Involvement Group Members: Read
    • Person Competencies: Read
    • Person Traits: Read
    • Person Affinities: Read
    • Contact Profile: Read
    • Academic Term Enrollment: Read
    • Learner Program: Read
    • Goal Assignment: Create
    • Account: Read
    • Omni Process: Read
    • Assessment: Read
    • Assessment Question Response: Read
  4. Share these object records by using sharing sets or org-wide sharing. See Create a Sharing Set for Experience Cloud Site Users.
  5. In App Permissions for your Education Cloud for Experience Cloud Access permission set, turn on Run Flows.
  6. The EDU Cloud: Get Learner Details flow supports involvement groups, Discovery Framework-based assessments, learner programs, and student details (affinities, competencies, and traits). Configure the flow and its related features to meet your needs. See Collect Data to Ground Agent Recommendations for Student Goals.
  7. Turn on student goals.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, find and select Setup Education Cloud.
    2. Turn on Set Up Student Goals.
  8. Turn on the Student Goals Agent.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, find and select Set Up Education Cloud.
    2. Expand Set Up Agentforce for Education Cloud.
    3. Turn on Student Goals Agent.
  9. If not done, create data to ground the agent's responses.
    1. Turn on Data 360.
    2. Create a Data 360 data model object (DMO) as the data source for the Find Campus Resources agent action.

      Create a custom DMO with these values:

      Object Label Search Resource
      Object Category

      Other

      Add fields with these values:

      Field Value
      Search Resource ID Text
      Name Text
      Description Text
      Additional Details Text
      Usage Type Text

      Turn on Primary Key for Search Resource ID.

      Save your changes.

    3. Create data streams from these objects and map them to the Search Resource object: Program, Involvement Group, Learning Course, Action Plan Template, and Care Plan Template.
      If needed, you can map data streams from other Salesforce and external objects.
    4. Create a hybrid search index for the Search Resource object.
      A default retriever is created and can be viewed in AI Models, formerly Einstein Studio.
    5. Configure the Get Campus Resources prompt template with the retriever.

      In Setup, find and select Prompt Builder.

      Under Prompt Templates, click Get Campus Resources.

      Click Save As, and then click Save as a New Version.

      Scroll to the end of the prompt, find **Campus Resources**, and delete the placeholder text for the retriever.

      Click Insert Resource, select Einstein Search, and then select the retriever created in the previous step.

      To view the retriever's template settings, click the retriever inserted in the prompt.

      For Search Text, enter Input:Query.

      Select the output fields. For example, select search record ID, source record id, chunk, and data source.

      Enter the number of results. For example, enter 15.

      Provide any other relevant details.

      Save and activate the prompt template.

  10. Create an autonomous Student Goals agent for students from an Agentforce Employee Agent template.
    As part of the setup process, add the Self Serve Student Goals topic to your agent.
  11. Complete your setup and customize the Student Goals Agent.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, find and select Agentforce Agents.
    2. Open your Student Goals Agent.
    3. Use the tabs to access more configuration options. See Manage Agent Settings.
  12. Add the Student Goals Agent for students agent to your Experience Cloud site with Messaging for Web.
  13. Control user access to individual Agentforce Employee agents (AEAs) by using permission sets or profiles. See Manage Employee Agent Access.
