Uninstall EDA

Uninstall the Product

We recommend that only Salesforce admins or implementation partners uninstall Education Data Architecture. The uninstall process can take several hours or more to complete, and your users should not access Salesforce while you're uninstalling Education Data Architecture.

Note If the uninstall process fails due to scheduled jobs, file a support ticket to disable them. For more information, go to Create a Technical Support Case with Salesforce Support.

Back Up Your Data

When you uninstall a package, the process deletes all of its components, custom fields, and data from your Salesforce organization.

Be sure you understand the impact uninstalling Education Data Architecture has on your org.

Follow these directions to save a local copy of your data if you want to reimport that data to new custom fields.

Remove Profile Access to EDA

For the System Administrator profile and each custom profile, make sure that EDA isn't the default app.

• Remove Profile Access to the EDA Classic App
  For the System Administrator profile and each custom profile, make sure that the EDA classic app isn't the default app.
• Remove Profile Access to the Education Data Architecture Lightning App
  For the System Administrator profile and each custom profile, make sure that the Education Data Architecture Lightning app isn't the default app.

Delete the App

Delete the Education Data Architecture app as part uninstalling the product.

1. From Setup, enter App in the Quick Find box and then select App Manager.

2. Next to Education Data Architecture, click and then select Delete.

3. Click Delete again to confirm.

Delete Page Layouts for Standard Objects

You must delete the Education Data Architecture page layouts.

Sometimes, you'll need to assign or create a non-Education Data Architecture page layout so that your standard objects still have an active page layout. Delete these Education Data Architecture page layouts from the following objects:

1. From Setup, click Object Manager.

2. Click the name of one of the objects listed in the table.

3. Click Page Layouts.

4. In the row for the page layout you want to delete, click and then select Delete.

5. Click Delete to confirm.

6. To replace the layout that you're deleting, select a non-Education Data Architecture Page Layout. If there isn't another page layout listed in the Replace with Page Layout menu, you can create one. If you do so, don't copy the layout from an existing Education Data Architecture layout, but create one from scratch.

7. Click Replace.

8. Repeat these steps for each page layout listed in the table.

Remove Elements from Custom Layouts

If you have any Education Data Architecture page elements (such as buttons or related lists) on non-Education Data Architecture page layouts, you must remove them.

Uninstall the Package

After you remove all Education Data Architecture components, uninstall the package.

1. From Setup, enter Installed Packages in the Quick Find box, then click Installed Packages.

2. Click Uninstall next to the package name.

3. Select the checkbox next to Yes, I want to uninstall this package and permanently delete all associated components.

4. Click Uninstall.

Note If the uninstall doesn't succeed the first time you try it, there might be additional Education Data Architecture components that you need to remove. You are presented with a list of remaining components for each package as you try the uninstall. Remove the additional components and try the uninstall again until you can uninstall all the packages.

Uninstall Record Types

Delete these Education Data Architecture record types.

Delete Behavior Management Support Process

Delete behavior management support processes as part of uninstalling Education Data Architecture.

1. From Setup, enter Support in the Quick Find box and then select Support Processes.

2. Next to Behavior Management, click Delete.

3. Click OK to confirm.

Remove EDA Unmanaged Fields

Delete these EDA unmanaged fields.

1. From Setup, click Object Manager.

2. Click the name of one of the objects listed in the table.

3. Click Fields and Relationships.

4. Next to the field that you want to delete, click and then select Delete.

5. Click Delete again to confirm.
