Create a record for a one-time pledge, a multipayment gift, or an open-ended
recurring gift, including the schedule, amount, and gift designations of the donor’s
choice. If someone influenced the donor to give, you can log gift soft credits
directly on the commitment page. You can connect the gift to a campaign or
opportunity and allocate the gift for a particular designation.

User Permissions Needed
To create a gift commitment:
FundraisingAccess permission set
Before you create, update, or delete gift commitments, make sure
that you have Create access to the Contact Profile object. You need
this access because when you add or modify a recurring gift,
Fundraising updates the RecurringDonorType on the donor's Contact
Profile. If there isn't a Contact Profile for the donor, Fundraising
creates one. You can also add recurring gift commitments in Gift
Entry.
From the App Launcher (), find and select Gift
Commitments.
Click New.
Enter the donor details and a name for the commitment.
Select a schedule type.
If this is a recurring gift commitment in which the
donor pays a set amount on a schedule, select
Recurring.
Note You can
also create recurring commitment schedules from
the Gift Entry Grid.
If this is a nonrecurring gift commitment that the
donor pays in one or more installments, select
Custom.
If necessary, enter the campaign and fulfillment details.
