          Create Gift Designations in Nonprofit

          Create Gift Designations in Nonprofit

Specify how donors want their donation to be spent. You can identify a gift designation that's used for all unrestricted gifts and set it as the org-wide default before you begin entering gifts in Fundraising.

          Required Editions

          REQUIRED EDITIONS
          Available in: Lightning Experience

Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions with Nonprofit Cloud

          User Permissions Needed
          To create gift designations:

          FundraisingAccess permission set

          1. From the App Launcher (App Launcher), find and select Gift Designations.
          2. Click New.
          3. For Name, enter a name for the designation. For example, enter Earthquake Relief Fund.
          4. To allocate the gift designation when a gift entry is processed, select Active.
            Note
Note New gift designations are saved as active, even if you don't select Active.
          5. To use the designation for all unrestricted gifts, select Default.

Keep in mind that processing a high number of records on a designation can cause data skew. To avoid data skew, review the parent-child data skew to determine how often to use a new default designation based on the volume of records you process on the designation.

          6. Save your changes, and create other gift designations as needed.
