Set Up Calculation and Visualization for Planned Gifts

To set up calculation and visualization for planned gift records, you work in the Gift Planning app, the Planned Gift Lightning page, and Flow Builder. You also populate planned gift data in bulk. These tasks make sure that all of the gift types have the correct data and that flows calculate the correct values.

          1. Confirm that the Planned Gift Insights Flexcard is on the Planned Gift Lightning page.
The Planned Gift Insights Flexcard dynamically renders child Flexcards for specific gift types. If the parent Flexcard isn't on the record page, add it. See Add a Flexcard to a Lightning Page.
          2. Create your own active version of the Update Planned Gift When Expectancy Changes flow.
This flow calculates present, deferred, and future values and updates planned gift records when the Expectancy field changes.
          3. To make sure that automations calculate present, deferred, and future gift values correctly, populate these fields on your planned gift records in bulk.

Use Data Loader, an Apex script, or another method of your choice.

            • Principal Amount
            • Net Return Rate
            • Payout Rate
            • Term
            • Discount Rate
            • Deferral Period
            • Expectancy
            • Face Value
            • Principal Percentage
            • Expected Estate Value
          4. To make sure that automations calculate annuity rates correctly, create a planned gift annuity rate record and populate the Rate field for these gift types: Immediate Gift Annuity and Deferred Gift Annuity.
          5. To make sure that planned gift records of different types show the correct data, populate type-specific fields in bulk.
Use Data Loader, an Apex script, or another method of your choice. To learn which fields need data insertion for specific gift types, see Visualizations for Planned Gift Types.
