          • Sample Uses for Application
Track information about a prospective student's application to your institution, from submittal through decision. Generate reports to see the characteristics of your applicant pool.
          • Configure Application
Consider these updates, depending on which version of K-12 Architecture Kit you originally installed.
          • Create an Application Record
Before you create an Application, you must set up an Account that you can relate it. For example, an Account that represents the entire school or a program within a school.

Let's look at some possible uses for the Application object.

          • University—Identify the academic program or major and the type of program (for example, graduate or undergraduate) an applicant has applied to.
          • K-12—Identify the person preparing the application and that person's relationship to the student.
          • Any educational institution—Determine an application's status (for example, Incomplete, In Review, Waitlist, etc.) and track important milestones.

          Configure Application

Consider these updates, depending on which version of K-12 Architecture Kit you originally installed.

Before you create an Application, you must set up an Account that you can relate it. For example, an Account that represents the entire school or a program within a school.

          Tip
Tip As a next step, create Test records to track the tests this applicant has completed and Test Score records to track the results. See Test.
          1. If the Contact record has an Applications related list, click New in the related list. If not, from the App Launcher, find and select Applications, and click New.
          2. (K-12 only) In most cases, you're creating an Application for a student, so on the New Application page, click Student, then click Next.
          3. In the Contact field, select an existing Contact or click New Contact.
          4. Enter all relevant details for your new Contact, but leave the Account Name field blank to ensure that the required Administrative or Household Account is created. Click Save.
          5. Enter all relevant Application details and specify the academic program or major the applicant is applying to. For example, you might choose an Account that has an Educational Institution, Academic Program, or custom record type. Fill in optional fields as needed.
          6. Click Save. Or, if you're creating multiple Application records, click Save & New.
