            Behavior Involvement

            Behavior Involvement lets you associate individuals with a behavior event that's tracked as a Case.

            Sample Uses for Behavior Involvement

            Understanding a student or faculty member's role in a behavior event can help you develop appropriate responses. The Behavior Involvement object can help you track behavior events.

            • University—Track involvement of a student who might be the victim of a theft, a roommate who might be a perpetrator of the theft, and a Resident Advisor who might be a witness or reporter of the theft.
            • K-12—Track involvement of a student who might be the victim of a bullying incident, another student who might be the perpetrator, and a faculty member who might be a witness or reporter of the incident.
            • Any educational institution—Track the frequency of a certain person’s involvement in behavior events or the frequency of certain types of events at your institution.

            Configure Behavior Involvement

            Consider these updates, depending on which version of

            K-12 Architecture Kit

            you originally installed:

            If Installed Before Version Configuration Task
            1.14 Page Layouts: Create a K12 Kit Positive Behavior Involvement Layout by cloning the existing K12 Kit Behavior Involvement Layout. The sections and fields used are the same. Assign the new layout to the appropriate user profiles, such as System Administrator.

            Record Types:

            1. Create record types for Positive Behavior Involvement and Incident Involvement.

            2. Assign the K12 Kit Positive Behavior Involvement Layout to the Positive Behavior Involvement record type.

            3. Assign the K12 Kit Behavior Involvement Layout to the Incident Involvement record type.

            Picklist Values: Create a new picklist value and add it to the Role field for the Positive Behavior Involvement record type.

            1. From Setup, click the Object Manager tab.

            2. In the list of objects, click Behavior Involvement.

            3. Click Fields & Relationships.

            4. Click Role.

            5. In Values, click New.

            6. Type Participant.

            7. Select Positive Behavior Involvement. 

            8. Click Save.

            9. View the available values for the Positive Behavior Involvement record type and remove the Perpetrator and Victim values.

            View the available picklist values for the Role field for the Incident Involvement record type and ensure that all available values except Participant are selected.
            Compact Layouts: Add the Record Type field to the K12 Behavior Involvement Compact Layout.
            Search Layouts: Add the Record Type field to the K12 Behavior Involvement Compact Layout.

            List Views: Create a K12 Kit All Positive Behaviors list view.

            • Sharing Settings: All users can see this list view

            • Filter by Owner: All behavior involvements

            • Matching these filters: Record Type equals Positive Behavior Involvement

            • Select Fields to Display: Behavior Involvement Name, Contact, Role, Description, Case

            Create a K12 Kit All Incident Involvements list view.

            • Sharing Settings: All users can see this list view

            • Filter by Owner: All incident involvements

            • Matching these filters: Record Type equals Incident Involvement

            • Select Fields to Display: Behavior Involvement Name, Contact, Role, Description, Case

            Create a Behavior Involvement Record

            Use these steps to create a behavior involvement record in K-12 Architecture Kit.

            Before you create a Behavior Involvement record, first create a Case record. See Case.

            1. From the Case record for this event, click New in the Behavior Involvement related list.

            2. Enter a Contact name and the person's Role in the event. Don’t change the Case Number.

            3. Click Save & New to create a Behavior Involvement record for each person involved in the incident, or click Save after you've entered the last person involved.
