Create a behavior response record from a behavior involvement record.
Sample Uses for Behavior Response
Tracking responses to specific Behavior Involvements, and their statuses, helps ensure that reported behavior events are addressed.
- University—Track the referral of an incident involving a student to authorities for a state offense, like a car accident on campus.
- K-12—Track the probation period for a student whose action, for example bullying, goes against the school’s code of conduct.

Any educational institution—Track the number of a certain type of response (for example, expulsions or probations) or the number of responses that are in progress or have been completed.
Configure Behavior Response
Consider these updates, depending on which version of K-12 Architecture Kit you originally installed.

| 1.12 | Add these picklist values to the Type field on Behavior Response: Detention, Expulsion with Services, In-School Suspension, Out-of-School Suspension, Removal from Classroom. |
| 1.14 | Page layouts: Create a K12 Kit Positive Behavior Response Layout by cloning the existing K12 Kit Behavior Response Layout. The sections and fields used are the same. Assign the new layout to the appropriate user profiles, for example, System Administrator. |

Picklist Values: Create new picklist values and add them to the Type field for the Positive Behavior Response record type.

Create a Behavior Response Record
Create a behavior response record from a behavior involvement record.
Before you create a Behavior Response record, create a Behavior Involvement record.

From the Behavior Involvement record for the behavior event, click New in the Behavior Response related list.

Enter the Type of response that resulted from the event. Don’t change the Behavior Involvement ID.

Fill in optional fields as needed.

Click Save.
