Case
Case represents a behavior event and can have related Behavior Involvement records.

The Case object is used differently in EDA than it's used in standard Salesforce. It includes two fields that are unique to EDA that help you track behavior events. Category tracks the type of event, such as a code of conduct violation or other type of school violation. Location tracks where the event occurred, such as on campus or off campus. - Configure Case

Let’s look at some possible uses for the Case object.
- University—Track the theft of personal property from a dorm room.
- K-12—Track a bullying incident on a school bus.

Any educational institution—Track a breach in code of conduct.

Consider these updates, depending on which version of
K-12 Architecture Kit
you originally installed:

| 1.14 | Page Layouts: Create a K12 Kit Positive Behavior Layout by cloning the existing K12 Kit Incident Layout. The sections and fields used are the same. |
Record Types:

Picklist Values: Create new picklist values and add them to a field used by the new record type.
Note After adding new picklist values to the Category field for the Positive
Behavior record type, view the available values and remove any that are also
assigned to the Incident record type, for example, School Violation. |

| Search Layouts: Edit Default Layout to include the Case Number, Case Record Type, Contact Name, Category, Subject, Status, Priority, and Date Opened fields, as needed. | |

Create a Case Record for a Behavior Event
Use these steps to create a case record for a behavior event in K-12 Architecture Kit.

Click the Cases tab. If you don't see the Cases tab, from the App Launcher, find and select Cases, and click New.

Enter the Occurrence Date, Category, and Status for the behavior event. You don’t have to relate a Case with a particular Contact at this time. You’ll use Behavior Involvement records to relate people to the behavior event (Case) later.

Fill in optional fields as needed.

Click Save.
