          Education History

          Education History

          Education History stores information about a Contact's education history and related data.

          • Sample Uses for Education History
            Understanding a student's previous educational experience plays an important role in the recruiting and admissions process, but also has other uses.
          • Configure Education History
            Consider these updates, depending on which version of K-12 Architecture Kit you originally installed.
          • Create an Education History Record
            Create an education history record from the Education History object or from the Education Histories related list on a contact record.

          Sample Uses for Education History

          Understanding a student's previous educational experience plays an important role in the recruiting and admissions process, but also has other uses.

          • University—Track alumni historical data for targeted mentorship or donation programs.

          • K-12—Track the time a student’s spent at other schools.

          • Any educational institution—Track a student’s educational history to help guide their educational decisions.

          Configure Education History

          Consider these updates, depending on which version of K-12 Architecture Kit you originally installed.

          • Add these fields to your page layouts, as needed.

            • Academic Certification

            • Credentialing Identifier

            • Credits Earned

            • Status

          • Add these fields to your page layouts, as needed.

            • Account layout: School Code

            • Application layout: Initial Creation Date

          Page Layouts:

          • Add the Education History related list to the K12 Kit Student Layout and the K12 Kit Educational Institution Layout. Include the following fields, sorted by Start Date, Descending: Education History Name, Education Institution Account, Start Date, End Date

          • Create a K12 Kit Education History Layout with this configuration:

            • Fields: Education History Name, Educational Institution Account, Educational Institution Name, Contact, School Enrollment Status, Details, GPA, Class Rank, Class Size, and Degree Earned

            • Section: Additional Enrollment Information with these fields: Start Date, End Date, Start Reason, and End Reason

            • Related lists: Grade Enrollments (Grade Enrollment Name, Grade Level, Status, Start Date, End Date) and Notes & Attachments

            • Quick Action buttons: Edit, NewNote, NewCase, PrintableView, Change Owner, Clone, and Delete

            Compact Layouts: Create a K12 Education History Compact Layout and add the Education History Name, Educational Institution Account, Contact, School Enrollment Status, Start Date, and End Date fields.
            Search Layout: Edit Default Layout for Education History to include the Education History Name, Educational Institution Account, Contact, Start Date, Start Reason, End Date, and End Reason fields, as needed.
           

          List View: Create a K-12 All Education Histories list view.

          • Sharing Settings: All users can see this list view

          • Filter by Owner: All education history

          • Select Fields to Display: Education History Name, Educational Institution Account, Contact, Start Date, Start Reason, End Date, and End Reason

          Create an Education History Record

          Create an education history record from the Education History object or from the Education Histories related list on a contact record.

          Before you create an Education History record, you must first have a Contact to relate the record to.

          1. If the Contact record has an Education History related list, click New in the related list. If not, from the App Launcher, find and select Education History, and click New.

          2. In the Educational Institution Account field, select an existing Account or click New Account.

          3. Enter all relevant details.

          4. Click Save. Or click Save & New to create another Education History record.
