            Test

            Sample Uses for Test

            Let's look at some possible uses for the Test object.

            • University—Relate a Test with an Application to track a prospective student's completion of required tests (for example, the GMAT for a graduate Business program).
            • K-12—Identify any AP tests or standardized tests (for example, PSAT, SAT, or ACT) a student has completed.

            Configure Test

            Set up the test object to use in K-12 Architecture Kit.

            Initial Configuration Tasks

            Depending on your requirements, consider adding the Tests related list to the Contact page layout. If your institution tracks different types of tests than the ones provided by default, you can also update the picklist values for the Test Type field.

            Add Test Definition Custom Metadata Type to Test Records

            With Custom Metadata Types, you can create your own setup objects whose records are metadata rather than data. You can add a definition of a test that includes general information including the name, type, and description of the test. You can also indicate the unique credentialing identifiers for the test and the organization that issues the test.

            1. Click Setup, then click Setup.

            2. In the Quick Find box, search for and select Custom Metadata Types.

            3. Next to Test Definition, click Manage Records.

            4. Enter the relevant information and click Save. Or click Save & New to create another Test Definition.

            Keep Up with Test Updates

            Consider these updates, depending on which version of

            K-12 Architecture Kit

            you originally installed:

            • Add the following fields to your page layouts, as needed.

              • Credentialing Identifier

              • Credits Earned

              • Verification Status

              • Verification Status Date

            Create a K-12 All Tests list view:

            • Sharing Settings: All users can see this list view

            • Filter by Owner: All tests

            • Display order: Test Name, Contact, Test Type, Test Date. See Create or Clone a List View.

            • Create a K12 Test Compact Layout with fields in this order: Test Name, Contact, Test Type, Test Date
             

            Add quick actions to the Test layout:

            Add the following quick actions to the Test page layout to make them available from Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions bar: Edit, New Note, Printable View, Change Owner, Clone, and Delete.
             

            Configure the New Case quick action:

            1. Ensure the correct user profiles have permission to specify a new record type for the Case object.

            2. Edit the unmanaged New Case global action to specify an Incident record type for Case.

            3. On the Test page layout, replace the default New Case quick action with the New Case action provided in this update. If you see two New Case quick actions, use the unmanaged one (not k12kit__New Case).

            Create a Test Record

            Create test records from a contact record or from the Tests object in K-12 Architecture Kit.

            1. If the Contact record has a Tests related list, click New in the related list. If not, from the App Launcher, find and select Tests, and click New.
            2. Enter relevant details about this Test.
            3. Click Save. Or, if you're creating multiple Test records, click Save & New.
