          Create Funding Request Paths

          Help your users complete funding requests by creating paths that guide them through each step.

          • Enable Paths
            To start creating paths in Outbound Funds Module, turn it up in Setup.
          • Create a Path
            Create a path to help your teams follow a funding request status.
          • Add Path to Page Layout
            Add the funding request path to a Lightning page to make it available to your users.

          Enable Paths

          To start creating paths in Outbound Funds Module, turn it up in Setup.

          1. Click Setup, then click Setup.

          2. From Setup, enter Path in the Quick Find box, then select Path Settings.

          3. Click Enable.

          Create a Path

          Create a path to help your teams follow a funding request status.

          1. Click New Path.

          2. Enter a Path Name. For example, Funding Request.

          3. Press tab to autofill API Reference Name.

          4. Select the object used in this path. For example, Funding Request.

          5. Leave Master as the Record Type unless your org has record types. Paths are specific to a record type.

          6. Select a field from Picklist. For example, Status.

            Name your path
          7. Click Next.

            Michon can now add fields and help text for each Funding Request status. Let’s add fields to the Submitted status.
          8. Click Submitted, then click Add/Update Fields.

          9. Choose up to 5 fields to display on the Funding Request record when its status is Submitted. For example, Application Date, Funding Request Name, and Requested Amount.

          10. Click Save.

          11. Optionally, add helpful information an internal user can see when the record is in Submitted.

          12. Repeat this for as many Statuses as desired.

          13. Click Next.

          14. Optionally, select if you want users to see confetti to celebrate their success on reaching this status.

          15. Select Activate the path, then click Finish.

          Add Path to Page Layout

          Add the funding request path to a Lightning page to make it available to your users.

          1. Click Setup, then click Setup.

          2. Click Object Manager.

          3. Select the object you create the path for. For example, select Funding Request.

          4. Click Lightning Record Pages, then click Funding Request Record Page.

            Note
            Note If there are no Lightning Pages, click New to create a new record page.
          5. Click Clone.

          6. Select Path from the Standard Component list, then drag it to the header region.

          7. Update any other Lightning Pages, as needed.

          8. Click Activation…

          9. Click App Default, then click Assign as App Default.

          10. Select Outbound Funds.

          11. Click Next, Next, then Save.

          12. Click Save.
