After you create a position, create qualifications for that position to define the
requirements that apply across all related job positions. Set qualifications to help you
determine who's the right volunteer for the role.

User Permissions Needed
To create position qualifications:
Manage Volunteer Data permission set
From the Position Qualifications page, click New.
The New Position Qualification window opens.
Select the position that this qualification is for, or create a new
one.
For the Qualification Reference Record, select either Competency
or Examination.
To make the qualification standard a demonstrated competency, select
Competency.
To make the qualification standard an exam, select
Examination.
Volunteer matching only uses competencies, not examinations. If the examination or
competency doesn't exist, create one.
If applicable, enter a qualification level, select a proficiency level, and enter a
description for the qualification.
To match volunteers to a position or job position, set a qualification level on both
the position qualification and job position qualification. To help with matching,
qualification level integers can be mapped to proficiency level dynamic values, such as
Beginner, Intermediate, Expert, or to values like Desired, Preferred, or Mandatory.
Save your work.
You’ll find the position qualification on the Position Qualification page. Salesforce
automatically assigns an alphanumeric name to the new qualification.
