Verifying Object, Field, and Record Access for Partner Users
For partner users to export records, partners must have permission to access the record from the vendor’s Experience Cloud partner site. Before you begin Partner Connect setup, we recommend that vendor admins check that partner users have the level of access that the vendor wants.
We recommend that vendor admins verify partner access to vendor records that’s provided in any of these ways.
- Verify that the objects and fields that you want to share aren’t encrypted. See Set Up Your Encryption Policy.
- Verify that object permissions and field permissions provide the access that you expect. Partner users must have at least Read permission on the objects you’re integrating to be able to see and export records on that object.
- Verify that navigation to the shared objects is available from the vendor’s Experience Cloud partner site. See Enable Objects for Experience Cloud Site Users.
- Verify that account relationship sharing rules provide the access that you expect. You can use account relationship sharing to define the criteria for partner users to access specific records on an object. See Account Relationships and Account Relationship Data Sharing Rules.
After vendor and partner admins complete the Partner Connect setup prerequisites, the vendor admin can kick off the Partner Connect setup process.
