How Does a Sales Channel Work?

Check out what a sales channel looks like and how it can help you and your sales team keep selling directly from Slack.

Sales channels are notified about changes to opportunity records (1). Notifications are sent when the Amount, Stage, or Close Date fields are updated on an opportunity linked to the channel. The record details that other channel members can see (2) depends on the Record Detail Settings your Salesforce admin set for Slack apps in Salesforce Setup. The sales channel also provides one place to give status updates, share related records, post files, and ask questions about the sale (3).

Members see each linked record pinned to the channel description. All members can quickly find, view, or edit those records, right from the sales channel.

Channels can be public or private, to more precisely manage who’s involved in the sales process and when they’re brought into the conversation. And because the conversation is housed in Slack, team members can always access past conversations just by scrolling or searching the channel.
