Billing Considerations for Slackbot
Slackbot uses native Slack and Salesforce tools to complete tasks, and Slackbot can use Standard and Advanced Actions to do things like research, build reports, or generate content. Use of Slackbot Standard Actions or Advanced Actions impacts the consumption of credits in these usage types.
Use Digital Wallet to check which consumption cards are active in your org, find out how many credits are available on each card, and determine how many credits have been consumed in each usage type.
Some usage types aren't metered for certain licenses or editions. Check your licenses and review license documentation for more information.
Slackbot Usage in Slack
When you use Slackbot, your org consumes credits from the Flex Credits consumption card, only after your plan’s included Slackbot message allowance is exhausted. For more information, see Flex Credits Billable Usage Types for Slackbot and Slackbot limits and credit usage in Slack Help.
To check multipliers for each usage type, see the Slackbot section within the Flex Credits Rate Card. The cost of each credit is determined by your contract.

Reduce Slackbot Costs
Lower Slackbot credit consumption in several ways.
- Combine related asks into a single message so Slackbot can group tool calls toward one outcome instead of running separate turns for each step.
- Use Standard Actions (search, canvas, list, calendar tools) where they get the job done, and reserve Advanced Actions like Deep Research, slide, or report creation for when you actually need that depth.
- Check Digital Wallet regularly to monitor consumption trends and catch unexpected spikes early.
- Avoid re-running the same request repeatedly to troubleshoot. Each turn bills at least 1 Standard Action even if the result doesn't change.
