Populate Transaction Data in Transaction Journals

Populate Transaction Data in Transaction Journals

Use Transaction Journal to store transaction records for member accounts as inputs for accrual calculations. Retrieve transaction data from Salesforce objects such as Orders and from external systems.

Required Editions

Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions that have Rebate and Accrual Management Advanced enabled.

To store all transaction records for member accounts, use the Transaction Journal object. If you need additional information such as account territory, invoice status, and product category for accrual processing, add custom fields to Transaction Journal.

To populate transaction records in journals for downstream accrual calculations, use any one of these methods.

  • Convert data from Salesforce objects: To convert Orders or custom object records into Transaction Journal records in Data Cloud, create a custom Data Processing Engine definition. Change the data source to the relevant object and select the required fields in all applicable nodes. Schedule a flow at regular intervals to run the definition.
  • Transfer data from external systems: Use integration techniques or standard Salesforce methods such as Bulk API or Data Loader to sync high-volume data from external systems such as ERP solutions into the Transaction Journal object.
